Beco Life $1,500 Scholarship Contest
Here at Beco Life we understand that a proper education is the key to success but may not be financially feasible for students and their families. To help students achieve their educational aspirations, we are proud to announce the launch of the Beco Life $1,500 Scholarship Contest.

The 2018 Essay Topic

To participate in the contest, applicants should write a 600-word essay answering the following question:
Our life expectancy is constantly growing thanks to advances in science and medicine. While life insurance is a wise decision, many individuals let their policy lapse, for a myriad of reasons. Others sell their life insurance policies on the secondary market through life settlements or viatical settlements. What are some new ways we encourage those with life insurance (typically aging adults) to keep their policies active and avoid lapse?

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or law school in the United States for the Spring 2018 semester. This includes high school seniors, freshman, sophomores, juniors, college seniors, and law students (L1, L2, L3). Applicants must also comply with all requirements set forth in the “Essay Submission Procedure” section below.

Essay Submission Procedure

People who wish to participate should send their essay as an attachment (.doc / .docx) in an email to scholarship@becolife.com by March 31, 2018 9 AM EST. In the body of the email, applicants should include the following information:

Your name and phone number
If you are under 18, contact information for your parents
The name of the school you are attending or planning on attending
Your current/prospective course of study
The best way to contact you
Once the application period has ended, our scholarship committee will review the essays. A winner will be chosen by April 15, 2018. The winner will be chosen considering the following factors:

Originality
Creativity
Proper use of citations
Scholarship awards will be issued directly to the winner’s institution of choice.
