Communication and Media Graduate Assistantship

The MA in Communication and Media is hiring a graduate student for the Spring 2023 quarter. Selection will be based on a combination of interest, current GPA, applicable background/skills in the subject matter, and seniority. The GA will receive a tuition waiver for one, 4-hour graduate communication course ($3,160), and a $1,560 monetary stipend during the Spring quarter. The GA will work about 10 hours per week (100 hours per quarter). Schedule will be determined with the GA supervisor.

To be eligible for a graduate assistantship you must meet all of the following requirements. If you are not eligible this year, please keep in mind we seek graduate assistants every year and will have similar opportunities for the next academic year as well.

• Must be registered for at least 1 course when serving as a GA
• Have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or above
• Full-time DePaul employees are not eligible

Examples of Graduate Assistant responsibilities
• Planning an academic conference, including assisting with panel creation, event planning for day-of, editing an academic volume, overseeing volunteers and vendors, liaising with keynote guests, and working social media. The work can largely be completed from home with the exception of some on-the-ground set-up and the academic conference itself, which will take place at the end of May
• Helping conduct textual and academic research
• Graphic design
• Editing a book
• Serving as a graduate ambassador to prospective Communication and Media students
