Darrell Castle Champions of Justice and Well-being Scholarship

When Darrell Castle first started working in bankruptcy, he appreciated how the lawyers, trustees and judges worked together to make the system work properly. Darrell loved the idea of helping people get a fresh start and has continued to implement this throughout his law career.

For over 30 years, Darrell Castle & Associates has been employing people who genuinely care about our clients’ well-being and who fight tirelessly to get justice met. We have continued to try to give people in need a new outlook on life by helping them with bankruptcy and related problems, personal injuries, and getting the social security disability that they are entitled to. While we do this through the law and our legal system, we know that justice and well-being come in many different forms and that law is only one of many ways to help a person to get these things.

We have created the Darrell Castle Champions of Justice and Well-being Scholarship for an outstanding student who is committed to providing justice and well-being to others. We believe that by helping to fund the education of a student who has similar ideals and goals to those we demonstrate in our practice, we are helping to promote a more just and prosperous future society.

Eligibility Criteria

• This scholarship is open to any student who is currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, graduate, or professional program in the United States. This includes accredited community college students as well as high school seniors and students who possess a GED who have been accepted to or are enrolled in an accredited program.
• The scholarship applicant must be able to describe their experience/s that led them to wanting to promote justice and to work for the well-being of others.
• All eligible candidates must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.

Essay
Answer the following prompt and questions in an essay of 1,000 words or less:

• Describe a pivot point in your life when someone helped you or gave you a break.
• How did this give you a new outlook on life that helped you to get through a difficult time?
• How has this experience informed your education and career goals?
• In what ways do you plan to promote justice and the well-being of others?
