2019 Accident Victims Scholarship

At Laborde Earles Law Firm we are determined to help accident victims receive the compensation that they need and deserve. When the unexpected becomes a reality, the physical, emotional, and financial pressure on accident victims can be overwhelming. Sadly, the legal system has a tendency to put even more strain on accident victims, and we as a firm actively seek to combat those imperfections. Our aim is to help our clients bounce back from their unfortunate circumstances by providing the legal experience needed to file a personal injury claim.

Our firm is proud to provide a $1,000 scholarship to a U.S. college student who produces the best essay on how our legal system could do more for accident victims. In a 750-word essay in 12-point Times New Roman font, discuss your opinion and provide insight into the legal system’s shortcomings regarding those seriously injured by the negligence of others.

In order to be considered eligible to apply for the scholarship you must:
Be currently enrolled (or enrolled prior to the scholarship deadline) at an accredited institution, including junior college, community college, undergraduate program, or graduate program anywhere in the United States
Have good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA or above
NOT be a prior scholarship winner (although previous entrants who were not selected may submit an essay) or anyone who is affiliated with the sponsor as an employee, contract or regular, and their respective family members

A completed application for this scholarship must include the following:
A current resume
A current official or unofficial transcript from your most recent academic institution
A 750-word essay discussing whether you believe the legal system in the United States could do more for accident victims.
All submissions are due by September 30, 2019. Please email your essays to law@onmyside.com. Please have “Name of Applicant – 2019 Accident Victims Scholarship” in the subject line with a copy of your essay, up-to-date transcript, and resume in the attachments.
