Creative Scholarship Competition

The law office of Michael H. Schwartz, P.C., is providing high school juniors and seniors and current college students with an opportunity to win scholarship money to help further their education. Our firm is offering a total of $1,500 in scholarships ($1,000 for first place and $500 for second) to students who attend or plan to attend a two-year or four-year college or university anywhere in the United States. Winners will be chosen based on a submitted essay or video (details below), school activities, leadership positions, honors and awards, community service, academic performance, and professional pursuits.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
In order to be eligible for the scholarship program, applicants must be:

A U.S. citizen or a legal permanent U.S. resident
Enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university in the United States – or –
A high school junior or senior who plans to enroll in a two-year or four-year college or university in the United States
Employees of the law office of Michael H. Schwartz, P.C.; Consultwebs.com, Inc.; their boards of directors and immediate family members are not eligible for this scholarship competition.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Applicants must submit the following to ereiss@consultwebs-email.com for consideration in the scholarship competition:

A digital photo of yourself (.jpg)
A copy of your high school or college transcript; and
A creative project on the following topic:
Should student loan debt be discharged during bankruptcy?
For the creative project, applicants must submit either a written essay or a video on the topic listed above. Essays may not exceed 600 words. Videos may not exceed 2 minutes.

Creative projects must display thorough research and thoughtful reflection on the topic. Be sure to cite all sources of information used in the project. Originality and creativity are critical. Plagiarism is grounds for disqualification.

IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES
After all applications are submitted by the deadline of June 5, 2020, the firm will choose two entries from a filtered pool of top applicants for our scholarship awards.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT
After all applications are submitted by the deadline, the firm will choose two entries from a filtered pool of top applicants for our scholarship awards in the following amounts:

First Prize: $1,000 scholarship
Second Prize: $500 scholarship

Scholarship awards must be used exclusively for tuition at an institution of higher learning and/or for related expenses such as books and supplies. Award winners are expected to submit receipts in accordance with IRS regulations.

OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES
All entries submitted to the law office of Michael H. Schwartz, P.C., in connection with our scholarship contest, along with all copyright, trademark and other proprietary rights associated therewith, become the property of the law office of Michael H. Schwartz, P.C.

By submitting an entry, you acknowledge that if you win a scholarship award, the law office of Michael H. Schwartz, P.C., will own all rights to publish and promote the submission.
