Birth Injury Survivor Scholarship

Distasio Law Firm is now accepting applications for its Birth Injury Survivor Scholarship. Our firm will award $2,500 to one applicant whose story, experience, and message resonated with us.

Applicants must satisfy all the eligibility criteria, submit an application, and compose an essay that tells us their birth injury story. Entries must be submitted by June 1, 2021.

Scott Distasio, the founder of Distasio Law Firm, wants to celebrate the courage, drive, and tenacity of those who have endured the hardships of a birth injury and continue to plow their way through to a brilliant and productive future.

Overcoming the Challenge of a Birth Injury
At Distasio Law Firm, we fight for the rights of people who suffer from a birth injury. We have been doing this for over a decade, and we will continue to do so because we know how challenging life with a birth injury can be.

If your birth injury was a result of medical malpractice or some form of negligence from another individual, it would also be very easy to live a bitter and resentful life, rather than a hopeful one that sees the possibilities, not the limitations, that lie before you.

If you are reading about this scholarship, you did not take the easy way out. You dug deep and found a spark of motivation that propels you forward. And now you are college-bound. We want to hear your story, and we think other young people who struggle with birth injuries will want to hear it, too.

Your Story Could Be Your Ticket to Winning This Scholarship
Nobody’s story is quite like yours. And nobody can tell it like you can tell it. Imagine where you were five or 10 years ago. Imagine the challenges you were facing. What pulled you through? What life lessons could another birth injury survivor have shared with you at that age to inspire you?

This is what we want to know about you. The applicant whose application and essay most touches us as a story of courage, drive, and hope will win a $2,500 scholarship from Distasio Law Firm.

Scott Distasio has been representing birth injury victims long enough to know the wide range of possible injuries someone can suffer. We hope that our scholarship applicants will showcase that anyone can be struck with this experience—and that it takes only courage and hope to move forward through this experience.

We encourage you to apply, regardless of whether you are an incoming freshman overwhelmed by college expenses or a college junior who could use some help wrapping up the last year of their higher education.

All you need is a willingness to share your story with us. Inspire us with the tale of how you got to be the person you are today. If you meet the below eligibility criteria, we eagerly await your submission.

Eligibility for the Distasio Law Firm Birth Injury Scholarship
To be eligible to enter the Distasio Law Firm Birth Injury Scholarship, you must satisfy these criteria:

3.0 GPA (attach your unofficial transcript with your application).
Compose an essay on the below topic and submit with your application.
Submit proof of birth injury diagnosis. This can include a doctor’s note, medical record, or other proof of diagnosis.
Agree to the scholarship’s Terms and Conditions.
Complete the application form on this page and submit it.
