Public Relations and Advertising Graduate Assistant - College of Communication
The Public Relations and Advertising (PRAD) graduate program is looking to hire two graduate assistants (GA) to work with the program for the 2021-2022 academic year. Ideally the GAs would commit to the full academic year.
Selection will be based on a combination of interest, current GPA, fit, and seniority. Students must be in the PRAD MA program and be enrolled in at least 4 credit hours during each quarter of the assistantship. Preference will be given to students who do not have a full-time job commitment as the assistants will need to work during the day. Students must have completed at least 8 credit hours to be eligible to apply. Students who are full time employees of DePaul University are not eligible for this position.
The graduate assistants will work with program directors Dr. Sydney Dillard and Ron Culp, and PRAD faculty, as necessary, to assist with graduate program events, communication and research. During fall 2021, their main responsibility will be engaging with PRAD’s alumni community. For Winter and Spring 2022, they will be primarily responsible for the June 2022 Portfolio Showcase event. In addition, they will also serve as the PRAD program graduate ambassador, present on prospective student information panels and communicate with prospective students about the PRAD graduate program and PRAD combined degree program. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Event planning and management experience, as well as expertise in research (primary and/or secondary) is strongly preferred.
The student selected will receive a tuition waiver in the amount of one, 4-hour graduate Communication course ($3,100 value) for each quarter they serve as graduate assistant, as well as a $1,500 monetary stipend during each quarter. The graduate assistant will work approximately 10 hours per week.
