John W. Kelly

John W. Kelly was born and raised on the southwest side of Chicago, attending St. Daniel the Prophet elementary school and St. Laurence O’Toole High School. John received his B.S. in Accounting and his M.S.T. from DePaul University. In 2011, he received his M.A. in Catholic Studies from The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. John relocated with his family to Eagan, Minn. in 1994.
John serves as UnitedHealth Group, Inc.’s Senior Vice President – Tax, and has headed up its corporate tax department since June 2001. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Inc., he spent 16 years in KPMG LLP’s insurance tax practice in Chicago and Minneapolis, the last six years as a partner.
John has served on the board of directors for The Arc Greater Twin Cities, which serves individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, for nearly five years and also serves as its treasurer.
John is also a five-year board member and treasurer of Wakota Life Care Center, a pro-life crisis pregnancy center that is part of the Total Lifecare Centers of Minn.
Finally, John is also on the board of directors and vice-chairman of the Finance & Administration Committee of Catholic Charities of St. Paul, Minn. and Minneapolis.
John and his wife, Paula, love to travel and are active in their local Catholic parish, studying their faith, volunteering and fundraising for various non-profit organizations, and supporting Catholic education.
John and Paula have been married for over 25 years and are the proud parents of Jack and Bridget.
