College of Communication Graduate Assistant Application
The College of Communication is currently seeking one graduate assistant (GA) for the Autumn 2018 and Spring 2019 quarters to support The College of Communication Dean, Dr. Salma Ghanem, as an editorial assistant on her scholarly journal The Agenda Setting Journal. Only graduate students in College of Communication graduate programs who have completed at least 8 hours of coursework, who are in good academic standing, and have experience in proofing or editing and APA style should apply. The selected student will need to be enrolled in at least one 4-credit graduate course during each of the GA quarters.
Description: The graduate assistantship with Dr. Ghanem consists of about 10 hours per week for the 10 weeks of the regular term (for both Autumn and Spring). Responsibilities will include editing manuscript submissions for The Agenda Setting Journal in APA format (plus additional requirements as specified by the publishing company), keeping track of submissions and updating available reviewers on the editorial manager website (which requires researching who has published work in the field), occasional additional research (on communication related topics), and weekly meetings with Dr. Ghanem on progress.
Compensation: The graduate assistantship includes a tuition scholarship for one course ($2,980) plus a $1000 stipend during each of the GA quarters. *Students who are full time employees of DePaul University are not eligible to apply.
