Summer Internship Plus Program
The Internship Plu$ program was established to support DePaul University undergraduate students participating in unpaid internships that demonstrate financial need. This program awards up to $2,500 in financial assistance to eligible undergraduate students working in a quarter-long unpaid internship. All awards are issued as scholarships to the student’s tuition account. They are treated as financial aid. Please speak with Student Accounts to confirm what impact this will have on your tuition account and how money will be disbursed if there are no current tuition charges.
In order to be eligible for this award, the following requirements must be met:
- Must be a current full-time undergraduate student who will be enrolled full-time during the Fall 2019 quarter.
- Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0.
- You will be working in an unpaid internship for a minimum of 100 hours over the course of the 10-week Summer Term,
- You are not receiving any other scholarships/award for this unpaid internship opportunity
- You demonstrate an understanding of your internship role and organization and have articulated the value of this internship experience within your application.
- You demonstrate financial need and can provide a breakdown of costs associated with working a summer unpaid internship.
Students can still apply if they haven’t committed to an unpaid internship yet. Please note that applicants with fully confirmed internships will be prioritized over those with internships still being developed. Summer internships must be obtained by June 10th, prior to the Summer Term beginning, to allow time to begin the internship within the dates of the award quarter.
To apply for this scholarship, you must answer the following questions completely in short-essay format. A large part of our assessment will focus on how this internship will impact your professional and career development and what you hope to learn in your internship in relation to your major or field of interest, career exploration, and/or skill development. Your responses must be well thought out with little to no grammatical or spelling errors.
Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, which means that awards are made until funds are exhausted or the end of the application period.
