Journalism Internship Scholarship Application

Eligibility

• Journalism majors and journalism graduate students
• Have secured an approved internship for credit in the field of journalism with the College of Communication Internship Program for the Winter 2021 term and enrolled in the appropriate internship course
  OR demonstrate the intention to achieve the above with a submitted proposal to the College of Communication Internship program on file by March 31, 2021.
  Criteria
• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above for undergraduate journalism majors; cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above for journalism graduate students
• Successful completion of at least two JOUR courses

Special consideration for those with unpaid or low-paying internships. Applicants with approved internships at the time of application will be prioritized over those with internships in the development/approval stages. Applicants will be assessed based on the quality and relevance of the internship, the impact on professional and career development, and what the applicant hopes to learn in relation to the journalism field and career goals.

Award amounts vary, from $1200 to $2500, based on strength of application and available funding.
