Journalism Student Award
The Journalism Student Award supports students pursuing a degree in journalism with scholarship support. Current journalism majors and journalism graduate students in good academic standing are eligible to apply. Special consideration for journalism students participating in an approved journalism internship for credit through the College of Communication Internship Program in Spring 2025 or journalism students participating in an internship through the Center for Journalism Integrity & Excellence.
Criteria
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above for undergraduate journalism majors or minors; cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above for journalism graduate students
- Successful completion of at least two journalism courses
- If you are participating in an internship, your internship must be associated with one of following two circumstances: 1) an approved internship through the College of Communication Internship Program for the Spring 2025 term and enrolled in the appropriate College of Communication Internship course OR 2) have secured internship through the Center for Journalism Integrity and Excellence. Special consideration for those with unpaid or low-paying internships
