This $1,500 scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students attending or enrolled in the spring/fall 2024 semester. Scholarship money can cover school-related expenses and will be distributed directly to the winner’s school.

If you would like to be considered for the scholarship, complete the online application. The application includes an essay on the following topic:

Robert M. Hensel is arguably one of the most celebrated advocates of disability rights in the world today. His life’s mission is to ensure fair treatment and rights of individuals with disabilities across the globe.

Placing one foot in front of the other, I’ve climbed to higher lengths. Reaching beyond my own limitations, to show my inner strength. No obstacle too hard, for this warrior to overcome. I’m just a man on a mission, to prove my disability hasn’t won.

Robert M. Hensel

Reflect on the above quote and craft a 500-word essay answering the following question: How can just one person create change for so many through advocacy for the rights of the disabled?

Additional content such as original images, original videos, or other media are welcome, but must be the creation of the student.
