The MKFM Resilient Student Scholarship

Who is Eligible to Apply?
Eligible applicants for our Fall 2024 Resilient Student Scholarship must meet the following criteria:

Your parents are either divorced or unmarried.
You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university for the Fall 2024 semester.
You are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
You are 17 years of age or older.
What Does The Application Require?
To apply for our scholarship, students must submit these required materials:

Proof you are enrolled in an accredited college or university for the Fall 2024 semester (accepted options may include an acceptance letter, letter of enrollment, class schedule, etc).

The submission of a written essay or video essay
For the creative portion of our application, we ask students to provide either a 500-word essay or a two-minute video essay to answer the following prompt: Please share a personal story or experience that highlights your resilience and determination in the face of family challenges. How has growing up in a divorced or unmarried-parent household shaped your character and aspirations for the future?

How is a Winner Selected?
After the deadline has passed, our scholarship team will take approximately four weeks to review all applications and select a winner. When reviewing applications, our team will use the following evaluation criteria to determine which student will receive our award:

The student’s application clearly demonstrates their fit to our eligibility requirements and includes all necessary requirements stated in the instructions.
The student’s written or video essay is of high quality, providing clear and focused answers to all components of the prompt.
The written or video essay is authentic and well-organized.
