Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship

The attorneys at Patterson Bray recognize the value of starting a small business, and we appreciate the hard work required to establish, grow, and maintain a successful small business. Patterson Bray will award a qualified student a $1000 scholarship for demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to describe an initial plan for a successful business.

Requirements

3.5 minimum GPA
Enrolled or admitted to a 2-year or 4-year collegiate program or graduate and professional program.
An applicant must submit an essay of at least 500 words addressing the following:

Describe a new or interesting business idea.
Discuss why small businesses are important to the overall economy.
Explain your overall plan for establishing your business based on your idea, including what will be required to make it successful.
Applicants will be judged on the content and quality of the essay submitted, as well as on academic merit.

All applications, an unofficial transcript, and the name, address and email for the applicant should be submitted to ljones@pattersonbray.com. Applications must be received no later than Aug. 31st, 2025. The scholarship will be awarded no later than Sept 2025. Any and all award decisions are made subject to the sole discretion of Patterson Bray, and are final, provided that Patterson Bray does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, age, national origin, familial status, disability, or income.
