Poynter Landscape Scholarship

At Poynter Landscape, we understand the profound impact nature and outdoor spaces have on our lives. To inspire the next generation of (potential) landscapers and hardcapers, we are thrilled to announce our first quarterly scholarship. This initiative invites students to talk about their favorite outdoor spaces through a thoughtful essay.

Essay Prompt & Submission Requirements
A 500-1,000 word essay about “Why Do You Love the Outdoors?”

We want to hear about your personal experiences with your favorite outdoor space. Whether it’s the tranquility of a secluded forest, the beauty of a backyard garden, or the adventure of a rugged trail, share why the outdoors holds a special place in your heart. Provide a personal and thoughtful perspective.

For your essay, please:

include your full name and an essay title
write between 500 – 1,000 words (longer does not always mean better!)
attach it as a PDF, txt, doc, or docx file
send it in by January 14, 2025
One winner will be selected based on a quality essay and adherence to the submission rules and requirements. The winning essay will utilize correct grammar and spelling, meet the submission deadline, demonstrate strong writing skills and approach the prompt from a unique and personal perspective. You may follow any accepted style (AP, MLA, Chicago or other) of your choosing.
