Eugene P. Jarvis CDM Scholars Program

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide recognition and financial assistance to incoming undergraduate students in the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) with the highest academic credentials. Scholarship recipients will be known as “Jarvis Scholars”.

Note: This $15,000 annual scholarship is a 4-year renewable scholarship which will be granted to the selected CDM students in their first year and can be renewed for up to three consecutive years provided they maintain good academic standing and remain in a degree-seeking undergraduate program at CDM.

For Academic Year 2025-2026, CDM will award the scholarship to four incoming freshman to DePaul University. Applicants must be admitted in Fall 2025 as an intended major at the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media. The student must also:

1. Meet all DePaul University standard admission requirements.

2. Complete a DePaul University admission application and receive an acceptance letter from DePaul University. The student must intend to enroll in the Jarvis Collge of Computing and Digital Media.

3. Submit a 2025/2026 FAFSA for consideration towards financial need. FAFSAs must be submitted to DePaul University.

4. Submit an equivalent 2-3 page essay (details below).

Essay Requirements

Within 1200 words, please address these three prompts:

1. Describe your commitment to furthering your education in cinematic arts, computing or design, including your career goals for the first five and ten years post college graduation. (maximum 500 words)

2. Describe your commitment to your community, including past, present and potential future volunteer experience or community engagement in any volunteer, neighborhood, church or other activities. Give examples of leadership roles you have held and explain why involvement in your community is important to you. (maximum 500 words)

3. Describe how you see computing, design and cinema coming together in the next generation (5 to 10 years from now) of digital games. (maximum 200 words)

PLEASE NOTE:

  • To be considered for this scholarship, your completed application must be submitted by the deadline (February 2, 2025, 11:59PM Central Standard Time).
  • The Eugene P. Jarvis CDM Scholararship cannot be combined with another Donor-funded Freshman Scholarship.
