Biederman & Burleson Champions of Justice Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for our scholarship, you must meet all of the following requirements:
You are an undergraduate student interested in attending law school. We encourage all students interested in the field of law to apply, especially those interested in criminal defense.
You are or will be attending an accredited college or university for the Spring 2025 semester.
You are a permanent resident or citizen of the United States.
You are at least 17 years of age.
Applying for Our Scholarship
Prospective applicants interested in applying for our scholarship are asked to submit:
Proof of enrollment at an accredited college or university (this may include an acceptance letter, class schedule, or unofficial transcript)
Unofficial academic transcripts from your most recently completed year in school

Essay Question
The scholarship application asks students to submit an essay of 250 to 500 words answering the following prompt:
What do you hope to achieve professionally in the field of law, and how will this scholarship help you reach your goals?
Recipient Selection Criteria
It will take approximately four weeks for us to review all applications and select our winner. We hope to announce our winner no later than May 7, 2025. The student selected as our winner will receive an email notification. When selecting a winner, the Biederman & Burleson Scholarship Committee will evaluate based on the following criteria:
The applicant provided an essay of high quality that clearly demonstrates an interest in law.
The applicant answered the prompt entirely and in a coherent, forthright manner.
The applicant meets all eligibility criteria and submitted all requested materials.
