Journalism Student Award

The Journalism Student Award supports students pursuing a degree in journalism and participating in an internship with financial support. Eligible students are welcome to apply for financial assistance while completing a journalism-related internship for credit via the College of Communication Internship Program in the Winter 2025 term.

Eligibility

• Journalism major, minor, and journalism graduate students are eligible to apply
• Have secured an approved journalism internship for credit for Winter 2025 through the College of Communication Internship Program
• Enrolled in a CMN internship course in the Winter 2025 term

Criteria

• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above for undergraduate journalism majors or minors; cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above for journalism graduate students
• Successful completion of at least two journalism courses
• An approved College of Communication Internship Proposal on file by the Winter 2025 deadline and enrolled in the appropriate College of Communication Internship course
• Special consideration for those with unpaid or low-paying internships
