Official offers extended in August.
Please note that COE GA spots can be for full-time or part-time positions.
Typical full-time hours requirements are 15.75 hours/week Fall through Spring quarters, including student/course break periods when university offices are still open.
Typical part-time hours requirements are 7.75 hours/week Fall through Spring quarters, including student/course break periods when university offices are still open.

The Department of Teacher Education, Kinesiology, and Educational Studies (DTEKES) offers five undergraduate programs, four in teacher preparation (Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary/Middle Grades, Physical Education) and one in Exercise Science. The teacher preparation programs are also taught at the graduate (master’s) level. There are two additional graduate programs—Education, Culture, and Society plus Sport, Fitness, and Recreation Leadership. Graduate assistants will play a role in assisting with the day-to-day operations of the department (e.g., answering phones, making photocopies) as well as supporting the approximately 18 full-time faculty in projects related to teaching (e.g., finding resources for courses) and research (e.g., literature reviews, assistance with manuscript preparation).
The TEKES Department operating hours are typically M-Th 9a-6p and Fridays 9a-5p throughout the academic year. Applicants interested in a GA position with TEKES must be available to work until 6pm a minimum one day per week M-Th throughout the entire academic year and have weekday availability 9a-5p/6p a minimum two days per week to be scheduled office shifts for 9a start and end of day between 5p-6p depending on department need and GA course schedule.
TEKES GAs complete most of their required hours on an annual schedule, two set days in office per week M-F (determined by department need). However, due to dates the university is closed (holidays and breaks), some hours may need to be scheduled on additional dates throughout the year to complete all hours requirements for the position (600 hours for full-time GAs, 300 hours for part-time GAs, September 2025-June 2026). Office schedule options will be discussed in more detail during the interview process and draft schedules can be provided at that time. The official AY25-26 TEKES office work schedule for any candidate will be confirmed during the offer process.
