Adult Student Affairs - PNC Bank Senior Scholarship

Due to the generosity of DePaul University’s partner, PNC Bank, a $5000 scholarship has been established to be awarded to one adult-undergraduate student in each of our nine undergraduate colleges. The award will go to applicants in their senior year of study, with plans to graduate in June or August of 2015.

Please Note: Your application must be completed and submitted online no later than Monday, April 6th, 2015.

Award Criteria:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate adult student (at least half-time, minimum 6 credit hours, 24 years and older)
  • Senior status; graduating in June or August of 2015
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Financial need determined by the results of your 2014-15 FAFSA
  • Demonstrated commitment to community service

Additionally, there are two letters of recommendation required in order to be considered. You will be asked to provide Name and Email address for each reference in the application process. Your reference will receive a communication guiding them to upload your letter of recommendation. Please be aware that you must manage the submission of these letters. Only applications with both letters of recommendation submitted will be considered.

  1. Will you be graduating in either June or August of 2015?
  2. Please upload your personal statement (no more than 3 pages) addressing all three of the following: (A) Your educational "journey" to date including why education is an important component in your life. (B) Your demonstrated commitment/involvement in community service (i.e. signficant/consistent involvement and/or leadership in community projects, organizations, volunteer work, etc.), either at DePaul or in your local community. (C) Your future plans, incorporating the application of your degree.
  3. Please request the first letter of recommendation from a DePaul University Faculty or Staff.
  4. Please request a second letter of recommendation from a professional relationship who has knowledge of and can comment on your demonstrated commitment to community service.
