This annual scholarship awards US$ 1,000 to a deserving U.S. high school student with a documented disability. The funds will be applied toward tuition at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution for the 2025/2026 academic year. Eligible students must be pursuing studies in health care, criminal justice, or community and social services.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Enrolled in a full-time program in health care, criminal justice, or community & social services at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution.
Be a U.S. citizen.
Have a documented disability.
Be under 20 years old at the time of application.

Application Process
To apply for the “SSDI Benefits Group Scholarship for American Students with Disabilities,” candidates must submit an original essay on the topic: “How did my disability shape your decision to study the program you chose?”

Applicants must also submit the following documents:

Proof of high school graduation in 2025.
Proof of acceptance to an accredited post-secondary institution for the upcoming academic year.
Proof of U.S. citizenship.
Medical documentation confirming disability.
