Grandio Greenhouses Sustainability Scholarship Sweepstakes

*PURPOSE: *At Backyard Living Source (BLS), our goal is to provide financial aid to students who are pursuing an education in horticulture, agriculture, or business.

AWARDS: Twice a year, 5 eligible applicants are randomly chosen to receive $500 each to be used towards school expenses awarded in the form of a check and paid directly to the recipients’ schools. Scholarship awards are to be used solely toward the required tuition, fees, books, or supplies in connection with the enrollment of the recipient, at an educational institution as outlined in Section 4: Eligibility. Awards are not subject to Federal Income Tax if the recipient’s school meets the requirements and regulations outlined in Section 117 of the Internal Revenue Code. All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of recipients/parents/legal guardians. No substitution or transfer of award is permitted except that BLS reserves the right to substitute an award for one of equal or greater value, in its sole discretion. A 1099 tax statement will be filed with the IRS for the value of the award. All recipients that receive an award will receive a 1099 form in the mail, to be processed in the tax year in which their award is received.

*SCHOLARSHIP OPEN APPLICATION PERIODS: *There are two entry periods each year for the Grandio Greenhouses Sustainable Scholarship. Entry for scholarships awarded in the fall begins at midnight Mountain Time on April 1 and ends at 11:59 pm Mountain Time on July 31 of the same year. Entry for scholarships awarded in the spring begins the previous year at midnight Mountain Time on August 1 and ends at 11:59 pm Mountain Time on November 30 of the same year. Applications must be received within the specified entry period and before the entry deadline.
