Angeline Gale Scholarship

The American Association of University Women Naperville Area (IL) is offering a $5,000 scholarship to uplift and support women or non-binary presenting persons who are pursuing higher education. AAUW advances gender equity through advocacy, education and research.

Applicants must:

Be a female or non-binary-presenting person, at least 26 years of age
Be enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution
Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
Be on track to earn 30 semester hours or its equivalent by July 1, 2026, if enrolled in an associate’s degree program, with the intent to continue and complete that degree
Be on track to earn 60 semester hours or its equivalent by July 1, 2026, if enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, with the intent to continue and complete that degree
Reside in or attend school in DuPage, Will, Kendall, or Kane counties in Illinois
Demonstrate a need for financial assistance
Participate in an interview (either in-person or via Zoom) with the scholarship committee if applicant is a finalist for the scholarship
Attend the AAUW Naperville Area Awards event in person to receive the scholarship award on May 2, 2026. If there is a conflict, awardee may send a pre-recorded video to be shown.
Funds will be distributed in early May 2026.
To complete this application all applicants with a Google account will need to upload, or if applicant does not have a Google account, email, the following three documents (PDF, document or image; max 10MB each; filename example: Last Name First Name_Personal Statement: 1) personal statement (max 550 words); 2) financial statements from your school (can be unofficial); 3) a copy of your unofficial transcript.
Official transcripts will be required for all FINALISTS.
