About the Scholarship
Shift Happens Auto Sales is a used vehicle dealership based in Airdrie, Alberta. We work with people who are working with all credit situations and across a wide range of financial circumstances. What we see regularly — through the conversations we have with customers every week — is how much transportation access shapes what’s possible in a person’s life.

Eligibility
This scholarship is intentionally broad in its eligibility criteria. We want to hear from a wide range of students with diverse experiences.

Enrollment:
Currently enrolled in, or accepted to, a post-secondary institution (college, university, technical institute, or trade school) in Canada or the United States.
Program:
Any field of study qualifies. There is no preference for automotive, business, or any specific academic discipline.
Citizenship:
Open to Canadian and American students. Permanent residents and international students enrolled at eligible Canadian or American institutions are also eligible to apply.
Academic standing:
No minimum GPA requirement. This scholarship is based entirely on the quality and authenticity of the submitted essay.
Age:
No age restriction. Mature students and returning learners are welcome to apply.
Previous recipients:
Previous scholarship recipients from other programs are eligible. This scholarship may be held concurrently with other awards.

Essay Topic
“How has transportation — or lack of access to it — shaped a significant life experience or opportunity for you?”

How to Apply
The application process is intentionally simple. We don’t require transcripts, references, or financial documentation.

Compose a 500-750 word essay responding to the prompt above. Write in a document you can attach as a PDF or Word document, or paste directly into the email body.

2 Prepare Your Application Email
Your application email should include:

Your full name
Your current or enrolled institution and program of study
Your expected graduation date or current year of study
Your essay (as an attachment or pasted in the body)
