Samuel I. Bailin Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Due to a generous gift from the family, friends and colleagues of Samuel I. Bailin, scholarship money is available to students enrolled as majors or minors Hospitality Leadership. The Samuel I. Bailin Memorial Endowed Scholarship can augment any additional funding a student may have previously been awarded.

Awarded to undergraduate students enrolled as majors in Hospitality Leadership who demonstrate financial need and are in good academic standing. Additional consideration may be given to students considering a career in food service management and/or supply-chain operations or a similar field.

All students enrolled as majors and minors in Hospitality Leadership are eligible, and encouraged, to apply for additional scholarship funding. In addition to financial need (as determined by the FAFSA), included in the review process is also consideration for cumulative GPA (2.0 or higher), student activity such as belonging to hospitality clubs or holding club leadership positions, and having full or part time jobs in the hospitality & sports industry.

To be considered for the scholarship:

  • Complete the online application
  • Upload a current resume.
  • Upload the following essay: Describe your interest in Food Service Management and/or supply-chain operations and how this scholarship will help you in pursuing that interest (single spaced; one proofread page maximum).

Students may apply for any, or all, School of Hospitality & Sports Business scholarships; however, separate applications are needed for each award. In order to be considered for the Samuel I. Bailin Memorial Endowed Scholarship, you must complete all required fields of the online application and upload all supporting documentation as requested per the scholarship requirements.
