Jeannie Morris, a beloved Chicago sportscaster, author, and producer, was a trailblazer for women in sports journalism and the first woman to report live from the Super Bowl during Super Bowl IX. Her success paved the way for more women to enter the field of sports broadcasting. Jeannie’s illustrious career in journalism, spanning decades, began in 1968. Through this scholarship, the Morris family ensures her legacy will carry on through DePaul University, helping College of Communication students achieve success in an industry where she leveled the playing field for women.
